iPod Library to big for my drive

Is there a way to get Itunes to look at two locations or drives as a single library. I have filled my external drive and still need more space. If you don't have everything in one place then the directories get all messed up and you can't consolidate and hunting for the files can become a headache. What is to be done????

my library is pretty much the same as what your talking about. i have somethings on an external drive and some on my main drive. all i did was when i wanted to add stuff from the external hard drive, i went to file -> add file to library and just selected the file from the hard drive. only problem is when i don't have the drive plugged in, and i select the song, it goes to cannot find song thing and when the drive is plugged back in, i have to locate the file again. Hope that anwsered your question.

i'm on Win XP btw.
