Do you guys keep the lid always open on your desk or do you close it every night or after every use?
When the MacBook is warm after being used, is it safe to close the lid or should I wait for the MacBook to cool down first before closing the lid?

Does closing the lid when the mac is warm cause the splotches on the screen to become more prominent (baked onto the screen) or does it not have anything to do with it? i just cleaned my display to a pristine shine last week and today i noticed new splotches on the screen, is it from me talking while im using the macbook and i guess tiny specks of spit hitting the display?

Static electricity attracts more dust than anything on mine. I just wipe it over every now and then.
Not sure about splotches though :)

Could the marks on the screen be from the screen contacting the keyboard/surrounding area while closed?

If so, one could put little squares (one each) of thin cushioned tape on the upper corners of the screen to minimize screen contact.

Thats exactly what i meant, Could it be causing these marks because i close the lid while the mac is warm after being used for some time? I'm not spitting or anything when i talk so i don't know where these tiny specks mark on the screen would come from

If the spots are due to contact with the keyboard or lower half of the laptop, heat/warmth isn't the cause--it is due to friction against the screen's surface.

Use the thin white paper that was in between the screen and keyboard to begin with, as a continued buffer when you close the lid. That way you won’t get keyboard imprints.

OR, get one of these like I've just ordered.
