Just FYI, the Apple Store App has life size 38mm/42mm faces for you to hold up to your wrist. I'm going 42mm!

There's a 'compare case size' link when you select a collection. 38mm is smaller than I imagined....

They both seem pretty big. I have a regular wrist and the 42mm seems massive. Will def choose 38mm

I have very skinny wrists too, in fact one of the reasons I wear a watch is to try and hide them. The 42mm is only slightly wider than my current pebble and the same height. so I'll probably go 42mm...

The thing about smart watches is that the screen takes up much of the visual real estate of the watch, making it look larger than the dimensions. My 39mm Omega is similar, because the bezel is thin, so the watch wears a little larger than 39mm.

I think the 38mm Watch won't scream smart watch as much as the 42mm version, which is a little closer in size to other smart watches on the market.

The 42mm isn't as huge as I thought it would be, but I'll probably still go with the 38mm.

The 38mm looks like it's going to wear about the same size as the Rolex Explorer/DateJust, which I'm cool with.

So the 42 is the same size as the pebble steel ?

I'd say so. I don't know what the exact specs are for the Steel, but holding mine up to the screen (in the app store) and my Steel appears to be the same size as the 42mm Apple Watch.

I measured my Pebble Steel (height) and it's about 38mm. The same too with my normal watch. So the 38mm case it is for me!

this is still my go to pic for how the 38mm looks.
