After Intel's price cut maybe the market will get shaken up a little.. so am thinking about SSDs again..

BUT

I keep reading about things like firmware upgrades, speed degradation, TRIM support etc. So - if you've had an SSD for a while, does this stuff affect you? I read about certain manufacturers providing 'wiper.exe' or what have you to restore performance, but only runs from Windows, having to image & restore drives etc.

So, after the initial love, does the SSD experience eventually become a pain in the a$$ for Mac owners??
