I wonder how they might tackle the fingerprint scanner...if at all? Maybe some kind of glass opening over the home button?

I would say it's impossible unless you forget about the fingerprint scanner which pretty much defeats the purpose. You can't leave the screen unprotected and still claim it's waterproof.
I'm more concerned over glass screen protectors that will raise the surrounding area. In the past you would use a raised button cover. Again; defeats the purpose. Unless you like living with a sunken area and less movement for the scanner.

Uh the nuud life proof is waterproof with no front cover. Screen protector is optional

I agree it presents a challenge. It seems like there would be some way to have the scanner still work, though.

The nuud although doesn't cover the screen still covers the home button and speaker grill. Sure they will come up with something. Otter box purchased life proof so they will have something in the works

Looks like they're on it. Unless they intend to just leave the home button unprotected on the otterboxes
