i am not sure what the hype is around the lightening port is for music, but i just tried a pair of upbeats lightening headphones on it with my music and videos and the sound cut in and out, i had to keep adjusting the connector and sometimes only one side of headphones worked.

i never had this much trouble with a pair of 3.5 mm headphones. Anybody else found this? is it the headphones? or my music? it is mp3s.

the ipad is new, and the port works fine for data transfer and charging, but i could hear static through the headphones with no music playing.

am on an ipad pro 10.5 2017, ios 11.2.6 or the latest ios.

If you're having static coming through that isn't there on the iPad speakers, then there is likely something wrong with either your iPad's Lightning port or something with the headphones themselves. I would test the headphones with another iOS device that has a Lightning port. If the problem persists there, you know the issue is with the headphones. If not, then it's probably an issue on the iPad.

It could be the headphones. Do you have an iPhone to test them with?
