Hi

I inserted the power cable all original Apple and it did not register the charge…. The iphone was not charging… on reinserting it it did start… is there an issue as in software or some handshake thing ?

I'm guessing the charger works with other devices?
Nothing stuck in the charging port of the phone? Fluff or pocket lint for example?

Get a toothpick and very slowly and carefully probe around the inside of the lighting port. The idea is remove lint and debris using the toothpick. Once you've got it cleaned out (if there's anything in there) then try charging again.

If there's no debris, try a different charger and if you get the same result it may be a hardware fault.

Well I have done that…. Also used a loop and a torch looked inside 2 devices and they look the same…that is look normal and pins look normal too

No nothing there… but if I wiggle it then it will stop and start at a flash this happens at times it all started after using the dual 35W charger… it will not happen all the time

Very odd, if you have an Apple store nearby I'd take it in and get them to look at it and go from there.
If nothing is visible in the port, and it's only done it using a certain charger it may well have damaged something or suffered a power surge or something (unlikely I know).

Yes nothing inside looks normal…. It’s charging now as well. It’s just connects and disconnects for a second at times not too often if you move the cable head.

Called Apple they ran a online report and said no exclamation ❗️ comes up anywhere and port seems fine…

Can someone try to wiggle the cable head when connected and see please 🤪

Sounds like it’s the charger that is at fault. I had an Apple charger that worked 50% of the time but then replaced it with a much superior Belkin lighting charger which has never failed me.

Ah I have
35w
20w

Tried both it will not happen all the time.

I also Ordered another 14 pro max it’s on the charger now I’ll check it… it’s just weird.

May be a sw issue? Like handshake ?

I don’t know what it is but I was able to replicate the issue with multiple phones. I do not have a 14 Pro so cannot help you but I have charged my 12 Mini on a Belkin fast charger and there is no interruption to the charge despite wobbling the adapter.

I mean what were you able to replicate? Yes it never happens all the time… here… I’m just trying to understand if this is a hardware issue or a SW handshake one

What does the “lightening port” do? Make the phone lighter? 😜

Also check the metal contacts on the cable. Sometimes they can be corroded or even missing.

Haha well I guess…. The cables are new…. At times it will not charge until I plug in again…now at times shaking the phone the charging goes on and off

The lightning cable only worked 50% of the time and I was able to replicate that over multiple phones.

Since moving over to a higher quality of lightning cable (Belkin), my phones have always registered a charge first time.
