iPad Lightening to SD Card Reader

Can the Apple lightening to SD card reader be used to transfer .jpg files
to the iPad4?

Is reformatting the SD card to compatibility with OS 10.8 needed?

Advice appreciated.

BTW, I'm able to easily transfer camera photos to the iPad4 using the SD card.

You need to put the .jpg files inside the DCIM folder.

Lightening to SD Card Reader

Tried adding a pic file.jpg to the DCIM folder, but it does not show up in iPhoto
on the iPad.

What might I be doing wrong?
