Isn't anyone bothered by the fact there is not lightening to 30 pin connector available. I personally have a 2010 VW Jetta with Ipod connector but no blue tooth connection is available. So I have to wait for a $29 part to be able to use my iPhone 5 in the car.

can't you unplug the 30 pin in your car, the other end should be USB and buy the UBS to Lightening connector? Both my cars are like that and it's $10 cheaper too.

Not user replaceable connector

The iPod/Iphone connector is located somewhere in the radio components not user replaceable. Only this adapter might be the solution. A $25,000 car needing a $30 part to make it useful again. I guess I'll be keeping my 4S to be able to listen to music in the car, what a waste.

Man, I'm fuming also. I have bluetooth but I paid extra for the iPod media system in my BMW.

Wow...your car didn't come with a radio? What a rip off!

This would be nice, but won't work for me. Unfortunately, every car doesn't use USB. See pic below

It is like this for me as well with my Nissan Maxima (09). The 30-Pin connector in my car uses a Nissan Proprietary port located in the center console. I am not even sure if I can buy a replacement cable, let alone hope for them to release a Lightning version that works for my car.

I am going to buy the 0.2 m "Lightning to 30-Pin Adapter" because my current cable is too short. So I will be out $39... Then I will need to buy a standard adapter for my Zeppelin Air sound dock eventually. No hurry there because it has the ability to use AirPlay.

Well it's officially October, so I hope these are available soon.

Best indicator will be when those who pre-ordered them, get their shipment tracking info ...

Is there a way to use a headphone adapter? My Jetta is 2008 and uses a headphone adapter to hook up the ipod. I am so glad it does!!
