If I buy an additional lightning cable will it be covered under my warranty for my phone? I tend to need more than one cable, one for home and work, and I find the lightning cables tend to crack easily. So just want to make sure that it would be covered under warranty before I buy an additional cable. thanks.

How is apple going to know the difference between the two?

Stop abusing your cables, pull out by gripping the hard shell... Dont tug the cable.

Your phone's warranty is not relevant here.

The new cable will come with it's own warranty.

Lightening cables have the worst build quality ever. Has little to do with how the user handles them.

If you pull them out by the connector, they last years.

If you yank them out by the cord, not designed for this kind of abuse, you will eventually break them. The same for many many cables out there, they just dont get handled as much.

Are the cables under warranty. My iPad Air one the out sleeve has come part exposing the wires but at the moment it still works

Not always true if you need to use the device while charging

In my experience with Apple employees . If I bring them the cables they will replace it. Last year the guy brought out the box for my two cables and said they are exchanging a lot of them as of late.

I take great care of everything I own. I have 30 pin cables from 2007 that are still mint. FireWire cables from maybe 2004 that are still mint.

Yet I have lightening cables from last year that look years old yet have minimal usage. It's not handling. For one, just charging your device, the heat in cable can cause it to change color, dry and fray over time.

Not buying that handling story. I've never had a lightning cable fail, but as far as appearance they look horrible.

Strange, I have three lightning cables that get a lot of use, and they are all perfect.

-car
-office
-stuffed in my backpack

The one for my Air and iPhone desktop charger are fine too.
