Simple, quick question: I have a cigarette lighter car charger that works with my 30-pin 4s. I can't remember what brand it is off the top of my head, but it's black and the USB to 30-pin cable is detachable. My 5s arrives tomorrow. If I replace the USB to 30-pin cable with a Lightning to USB cable, will everything work, or will it not be compatible? Maybe the 5s takes a different power draw than the 4s? Any insights are welcome. Thanks

It'll work just fine ^_^ so long as it outputs enough to charge your 4s, it'll be enough for the 5s.

There are plenty of other threads that discuss this. USB is USB. What differs is the current and a device will only draw as much as it needs. If the charger supplies less than the ideal current then it will charge slower.

I highly recomend this dual USB charger, can charge 2 ipad at the same time, it is a 10W X 2 charger, the OEM iphone is a 5W charger.
