The new Lightning connector does not have analog audio. I have read that the audio is digital. I'm not a sound expert, but it seems like this would reduce the noise of the connection, and I've read that digital audio in general allows for better transmission of certain frequencies. Do you think that the digital audio in Lightning sound noticeably better than the analog?

Once the iPhone 5 comes out, this will be a question of whether it DOES sound noticeably better.

I also see that the iPod Classic does not have Lightning. This is strange...
