Lightning Digital AV adapter not charging itself

I have a lightning AV adapter which was working fine earlier and used to charge itself once connected to my laptop. Suddenly it has stopped charging itself. So now, my iPod touch can only mirror as much as the battery allows.

Really stuck! Anyone else face such an issue ever?
