Lightning Digital AV Adapter - Noticeable lag?

I heard that because of the complex inner-working of the adapter, there is some lag. How noticeable is it? I want to play games on my TV with my PS3 controller.

I asked on Reddit, and somebody replied saying that there's just enough lag to make platformers unplayable. Games like Pokemon should be tolerable. Pretty disappointing. Really hoping for an Apple TV App Store now...
