Anybody know if the bundled iphone 7 lightning headphones work on other devices i.e. ipads or older iphones?

Was just going to post something and saw this. It appears only if that device has been updated to iOS 10. My iPad Air 2 has been and works. My work iPhone 6 is on iOS 9 and I can't upgrade and they do not.

Ah thanks for this! I searched and didn't see any previous posts. You'd think inquiring minds would want to know.

And thank you for testing ios9. I think many people just assume it works with any lightning port.
