Hi all,

Got a strange issue with my partner’s iPhone 7 I was wondering if anybody else had experience with.

Lightning EarPods are not recognised by the phone. By that I mean if music is playing from the speaker and the headphone are plugged in, audio is not routed to them. They do not appear as an output source in control centre either. They worked earlier in the day, but now do not...

When this happened the phone was on iOS12, since it happened I’ve updated to 12.1.
I’ve tested the EarPods with my iPhone 7 & iPad Pro, they work fine.
I’ve paired my AirPods to her phone and they work fine.
Charging the phone with a lightning cable works fine.
Lightning to digital AV adapter works fine.
Lightning to SD card adapter works fine.
Lightning to 3.5mm adapter does NOT work.

The camera is responding very slowly and the video camera does not work. When making a call it connects but you cannot hear anything and no one can hear you.

This has me very confused! Any ideas?

It's a hardware issue. My daughter had and iPhone 7 and it happened to that one and they swapped it out for a new one and 6 weeks later the sand thing. I took it back to the Apple Store and again they gave a new one. Apple isn't taking responsibility for this they tried to make me pay but it was still under warranty. The one we just got is only under warranty for 3 months. Enough people need to complain and sue to get Apple to take responsibility. The Apple guy just said I'm hardwareably unlucky. He did say Apple is aware of this issue and its has something to do with the iOS update. Call 1800 my Apple and speak with a higher up person.
