you think this will only work on skinny cases and not with the bulky Otterbox defender on?

Plan on using one of my old 6 foot 30 PIN adapters and attaching the Lightning to 30-pin Adapter but just realized will it even fit into the phone with the case on? :confused::confused::confused:
