Lightning to 30 pin adapter does not work with Sony dock

Sadly, I cannot get the Lightning to 30 pin adapter to pass sound from an iPhone 5 or iPad mini to the Sony RDPX200iP speaker dock. Just thought the info might be helpful to some.
