I have the Apple $29 30-pin to lightning adapter so I can connect to my car charger/audio cable. But I have to remove the bumper from the phone if I want to connect in my car because the cutout is sized for the lightning connector. I wish they has some slight extension on the $29 rip-off adapter!

Anyway, is there a recommended off-brand version or even short cable out there that I could use instead of the Apple branded one that I currently use? I'd prefer to keep it in the bumper if possible. Thanks!

I don't want to pay for another rip-off apple adapter cable like that though.

Or better yet, is there a iPhone 5/5s bumper case out there that can accommodate the 30-pin connector width without interference?

What about a slightly different route and getting this?

Unfortunately, also $40 just like the Apple cable option. With this BT device, I'd be able to make hands-free calls with it, but I'd just still have to plug in the iPhone to a separate standard lightning charger.

For audio playback though, they both would go through my AUX jack in my Accord, but the connection to the iPhone in one case would be bluetooth and the other via the lightning connection.
