Lightning to Apple Watch charger adapter?

Has anyone seen a lightning to AW adapter for sale? If not, Apple really needs to release one. It would plug into the end of a lightning cable and could be very portable, it does not need to be that long - only a couple of inches. It'd be awesome to put in a briefcase and always have a way to charge the watch as long as you have a lightning cable - I know I have a million of them.
 
I was only think today on my walk that an adapter like that would be ideal
 
Why not just a micro-USB one? Why waste an expensive lightning cable for this?

While I've long complained about Apple making their own standards for even the smallest things, I have to say that Micro-USB sucks compared to Lightning. From its water-resistant standard to its reversible connection, to its basic build, it's more durable and long-lasting compared to Micro-USB.

As a desktop tech, while micro-USB cables are dirt cheap, I can't tell you how many times someone broke the female Micro-USB port on their BlackBerry or Android phone, and that is the costly part to fix or deal with.

I bought the Aukey portable battery on Amazon (the only one with the female Lightning port) and I love the fact I don't have to carry both a Lightning cable and a Micro-USB cable everywhere to charge the iPhone and the portable battery.

I can totally see Apple making an Apple Watch portable magnetic charger disc with just a female Lightning port. That would be key.... key... keychain! If they made a keychain Lightning cable connector like the Nomad, it would be a complete package to charge either!

Because most people, if they have an Apple Watch, are already going to have their lightning cable with them...it cuts down on the number of cords you need....

I travel frequently and prefer to have cables with standard USB ends and small adapters to various connectors, which is a far more universal way to go about it. There's always a non-Apple product that needs a mini or micro USB, so unless you are 100% pure Apple (rare), the lightning cable is the extra cord that needs to be carried around.

We are talking about Apple. How many adapters have they made and sold involving mini or micro USB? I can think of 1 (the little lightning to micro USB adapter). That seemed like a fluke anyway. Why would Apple be so concerned with making an Apple Watch to micro USB adapter when everything else they sell is now lightning-compatible? It seems more likely that they will leave that up to 3rd party sellers.
 
Who says anything about Apple having to make it? Nothing in this thread says that. I think it's pretty obvious based on past history that Apple themselves would not make something like this anyway.

MFI certification (or not) FTW! I don't think Aukey's battery is approved to use the female Lightning port, but I'm so happy they made one.

I reached out to Aukey to see if they could make one, either as a standalone charging disc, or one that's integrated with a battery.

Well, at the end of the day I hope someone makes a lightning to AW adapter. IMO it would be nice to not have to drag 2 cables when I travel or I could take the adapt to/from work and use it there when I am not traveling.
 
Was just looking for something like this, hopefully one comes up soon. I don't want to have to bring multiple cords when I travel. I usually bring the wall plug for my iPad and one cable for both iPhone/iPad. Plus the watch cable is ridiculously long.

Absolutely agree - 12" cable max is all that is needed. Has anybody seen an answer to this?
 
Old thread I know, but I was wondering if anyone had ever found such an adapter...all my cables plug into a hard-to-reach spot behind my desk that has limited outlet space to begin with, so it'd be awesome if I could just pop an adapter on one of my existing Lightning cables to charge the watch when needed. It's kind of surprising that Apple themselves haven't made this yet.
