Can anyone recommend a low cost Lightning to HDMI Adapter? The Apple adapter is expensive. I have an iPad 6 / iPhone 8 that I want to connect to my 2014 Samsung smart TV. Due to COVID I created a makeshift gym in my basement and would like to have a bigger screen to watch while working out.

It is expensive but it works - a lot of third party Lightning adapters of any kind are dodgy. Old adage applies here - buy cheap, buy twice.

Spending the money for something that works is no issue. I wanted to see if there was a good alternative before making a purchase.

There are only a handful of 3rd party products that I will buy.

I don’t think Apple opened up the video adapter option for MFi partners.

So if you see something on the market is probably not licensed.

I am going to go with the Apple adapter once I settle on a wifi booster / extender. My iPad sometimes drops the Xfinity wifi signal on the side of the basement that I am using as my home gym. Everything could be good for days and then have some trouble.

I use this TP-Link booster in my basement for 2.4 & 5GHz -

lol - we have two cats but they leave it alone.

One of mine will think it is a new toy. I need something like this.

There's a reason why a Google search on "Cats are a**holes" returns a couple of million hits (and videos as proof). (I do love cats)

The TP-Link Wifi Extender ER230 arrived and works as expected. Unfortunately the xfinity stream app still doesn't connect. Other streaming apps work on my iPad and iPhone. My guess is that a recent update to the app has caused some sort of issue. I started having issues about a month ago which was right about the time I updated the app. Based on looking at some reviews on the app store other seem have issues with video playing.

Odd - I don't have any issues with it. 2018 12.9 Pro, iPadOS 14.1, latest app ver. 6.3.0.1831.
