My wife and I both upgraded from ip4's to ip5's. naturally all or our 30 pin connectors are obsolete. I also have an ipad2. My lighting to USB cable that came with the ip5 will not charge when it's plugged into ipad2 plug, or my car charger with USB plug. I thought that the ip5 USB cord would work with any USB plug, but that's not what I am seeing.

Are you using the 30 pin cable with your iphone plug?

if you are it wont charge the iPad, you need the power plug that came with the iPad.

the iphone lightning connector will work on the ipad power plug though.

Its not working with the ipad power plug, guess I needed to word that differently. Thats what I meant. Also will not work with car charger that charged my ip4 fine but will now with ip5, usb.

Works with my iPad 2 power block

You really should read the OP post. He is not trying to charge his ipad. And he is not stupid enough to try to plug the 30 pin into the 8 pin hole. He said "lighting to USB cable that came with the ip5 ".
