I just got a store demo unit macbook pro 2015, barely a year old but the battery is making me wonder. On a full charge running lightroom with 4000+ photos, i think i got around just over an hour or two of battery life. Is my battery drain normal for an app that heavy? or should i get this returned to the store? I have a 3 month store warranty so i'm still well within that window if i need to get it exchanged.

It seems a bit heavy. Check under About My Mac/System Profile the number of battery cycles and it's condition

Get Coconut Battery - it'll tell you how your battery is doing.

As for 2 hours - it depends what you're doing. HDR processing will chew the battery much harder than Lightroom relatively idle.

Also have a look at Activity Monitor's "Energy" tab.

Idle, Lightroom shouldn't be chewing a lot of CPU. Generating tons of previews or exporting stuff will load the CPU.
