Okay, so I've just taken on a new position/responsibility with one of my employers - "Tribal Marketing Chief". This is mostly a communications/social media position with an emphasis on content creation (both written and photo/video). Right now we're looking into photo management solutions that can be used by multiple users, and can sort photos with metadata (we're a zoo, so having tags on the species, adult/baby, with/without people, etc would be very useful for us).
One of the options we're looking at is Lightroom, and I'm wondering if we can set it up the way I want to.
We have remotely accessible NAS/servers available to put our files on (both the reference files and the catalog if need be).
Does anyone know if it is possible to set up LR to work this way, so that each user gets an identical experience when accessing the library (ie not fragmenting the library)? Additionally, if the originals and the catalog file are on the server, would it still be usable, or would latency make it sluggish to the point of unusable?
If this solution isn't a good one, what would all of you recommend instead?
(If it helps, I will likely be the primary/sole content creator/editor - others just need to be able to access the content I have created, preferably while being able to sort by tags).
