As an occasional Lightroom CC user, I am currently debating on going for a oled 16gb ram 256 ssd vs the non oled 2.0 with 16gb ram 256 ssd. I know that besides the oled, there is a difference between the i5 processors and the graphics card Price difference between these two configs is roughly $320. From a performance perspective only, will there be a noticeable difference in the actual performance of the machine using Lightroom?

I know the 15 pro would be better suited for Lightroom use but I use the program maybe 1-2 times per month, so portability is more important than shaving off a few seconds here and there.

Apparently the 2.0 is a 15W CPU while the 2.9 is a 28W CPU. It may make a difference.

I've used Lightroom on a Surface Pro 3 (an MBA equivalent processor) and a 2012 rMBP and both ran it fine, though it was a bit more pokey on the SP3. I think LR will fly on either machine

Thanks for the info...I'm leaning towards the base 2.0 model with upgraded ram.
