On a tugboat
[edit: It works again. Have no idea why???]

Replaced the batteries in my Apple BT mouse tonight.

The red light's on.
The computer recognizes it.
The computer accepts clicks from the mouse.

The cursor won't move when the mouse moves.

Are the cursor and the mouse in a battle of wills? Can anyone offer advice?

I've unpaired the two, rediscovered, removed the batteries and restarted. Twice. No luck.

Thanks.

first thing try the mouse and another computer.
you get the last BT update? did it happen after the lastest BT update?

Thanks for the reply.

BT software/firmware fully up-to-date.

I get this problem whenever I wait to replace the batteries in the mouse after the old set have gone dead. Not sure why or what happens that ultimately fixes it.

I take the batteries out. I put the batteries back in. I unpair the iBook and the mouse. I pair the iBook and the mouse. Nothing works except that the red tracking light is one, the wireless signal is getting through and the "clicker" input is recognized. Then, out of nowhere, everything works.
