An authorized Apple reseller here in Korea is doing a lucky bag sale similar to the one held by Apple in Japan (look up fukubukuro). It will cost 30,000 won, or about $29 and the reseller claims some bags will have a MBA or iPad Mini. What are the chances of either being in the bag?

Part of me thinks it really is minuscule, given the price, but since I have the day off that day, I want to stand in line for even accessories.

The chances would be exactly dependent on how many bags there are, and how many bags have said items. Without knowing these, the chance of anybody knowing is 0.

Your chances will obviously be low. If it was likely you'd win those expensive items it wouldn't make sense for the retailer to hold the competition. First rule of any gambling is that the house always wins.
