I'm the original owner of this 2010 mini server. When I got it, I had someone else upgrade one drive to a larger size.
The drive was failing, so I found the OWC video and proceeded to remove just the top drive.
When I tried to reassemble I noticed a problem:
In the video there's a heat sensor that attaches from the end of the drive and is taped back against the side of the drive.
On my drive there are two cables: one coming from the end of the drive, the other is glued to the SATA connector, and both have ends that fit the heat sensor connections on the logic board.
Here's the drive and cables:
The heat sensor from the lower drive is obvious. So I have what looks like 2 heat sensor cables on the top drive, and one on the lower, with no heat sensor taped against the drive itself.
Since the mini was working fine for years I assume this setup works, but stupidly, I trusted that the video would match my innards and could just watch to see where the connections go. So, I need to know which cable goes into which connection on the logic board (heat sensor connectors highlighted in pink)
Any help on doing this correctly is much appreciated.
