Limitations in iTunes for Movies & Music

Ok, so I am thinking of building a new server Mini or MP question is?

Are there limitations on how much iTunes can handle, I have 600+ DVD's that I have ripped and I am going to rip, also I have a large Music collection and TV shows collection.

I was thinking of Drobo as well for this setup but I am concerned that iTunes will start running slow thru the house when I load up one system with all this stuff?

It may not be an issue at all but does anyone have 4+ TB running thru a Mini Server or MP without any issues?

If you are using a Mini or MP as a server then it will probably be on 24/7 so you would only be loading up the library in iTunes after a restart. Shouldn't be a problem.
