hi folks,

I just recently ordered my first Mac (MBP), and also it is my first laptop :) Couldn't wait for it to arrive.

Anyone here tried bitstreaming DTS/Dolby signals through their optical output?

For something like VLC player, is it also capable to bitstream audio tracks as-is, and let the receiver handle the signal?

I was wondering if it can pass out TrueHD & DTS-MA signals from let's say a .m2ts or .mkv file

sorry, nevermind :) I found my own answer....

seems like TOS link & SPDIF can't handle such high bitrates, and seems like HDMI is the only interface that can carry the signal
