Good afternoon,

I have an Apple Watch Series 6 40mm (watchOS 7.2) paired with an Iphone 12 Pro (iOS 14.3).
I realized that when I receive a long message in the notification screen, the end of the message is truncated, as if there was a limit in the number of characters that the notification screen can display for a message. Of course, when I read the message in the Message application on the Apple Watch, I have the full message. This is the same with WhatsApp messages received in the notification center.
I tried to call Apple but there have no idea about this. I also tried to restart and restore the Apple Watch, but no change.
I made the test with 2 friends and they do not have this issue but both have a 44mm model, so maybe this is due to the smaller size of the screen.
Did anyone with 40mm Apple Watch experience this issue ? I doubt this is a hardware problem. Maybe this is something to set in the settings but I cannot find.
Thank you for your feedback.

If you are talking about what Apple calls "short look" notifications (ie those you see popup onscreen and then visible in notifications dock when you swipe down) then yeah its completely normal for any long strings to get truncated there bc those are static fixed size user interface elements so if any content doesnt fit it gets truncated. When you tap a notification it should transition to long look dynamic interface and size itself to fit notification content and if it doesnt then thats likely a bug (assuming the content isnt the size of a small book that is).

Also there was a bug in Apple SwiftUI where strings in "long look" interface would get truncated sometimes for no reason and I had to workaround that in my app. Dunno if it ever got fixed since then but that could also be the reason tho I have never seen it manifested in stock Apple apps like Messages even on the smallest 38mm Series 3.
