Line across screen, help!

There's a thin line going across the screen of my macbook that appeared today. I've tried restarting it and it doesn't go away. Is there something I can do to fix it or is the screen broken and I need to take it to Apple? I tried taking a screen shot but in the screen shot the line isn't there.

Can't you just use it as a guide for reading things line by line?

Gosh. So demanding.
