Getting really frustrated about trying to get an iPhone.
Waited 2 different days only to get to the front of the line and was told that they sold out of the black 8 and 16gb.

Does anyone remember when the lines died down for the 1st gen iPhone?

Does anyone want to guess when the current lines will die down?
1 month?

I don't remember, but I don't really think sales of the 1st gen iphone will be a good gauge. Since the initial cost is significantly less and there are more features, it's likely to take much longer before it's readily available without lining up.

The $199 and $299 price points REALLY opened up the market, regardless of the required ATT contracts.

You should just go line up earlier if you want one sooner rather than later. Since you've already waited in line twice, you should have a good idea of how long in advance you need to get in line.

When the original iPhone released I went to the Apple Store 4 hours after the iPhone launched and was in and out of the store in 4 minutes.

This year? Haha...
