I still have a few lingering questions after the event:

Will the original iPad still support HDMI out?
-No one seems to be saying.

Will video mirroring out work with the original iPad? over VGA? or HDMI?
-This is a pretty big deal for me, apple would really be screwing its early adopters over if OS 4.3 didn't support this. at the same time its a genius idea to sell new ones.

Will my Unlimited data plan be discontinued if I want to use the mobile hotspot?
-I have reason to believe that AT&T will be screwing a lot of people over this. Early adopters will finally have to end their unlimited plans to do mobile hotspot.

See http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC953ZM/A for more info.

Use the Apple Digital AV Adapter to mirror whatever’s on your iPad 2 screen — apps, presentations, websites, and more — on your HDTV or HDMI-compatible display in up to 1080p HD (movies play at up to 720p).
Watch slideshows and movies on the big screen in up to 720p by connecting your iPad, iPhone 4, or iPod touch (4th generation) to an HDTV or HDMI-compatible display.

Seems pretty clear that mirroring and requires an ipad2. The iPad1 supports slideshows and movies at up to 720p.

To use the mobile hotspot feature you must switch to the Data Pro + Tethering plan, thereby abandoning your Unlimited plan.
