anyone else have this experience with theirs? The side closest to my thumb has 9 links and the other side has 10. If I make it 9-9 it's too tight but 10-10 is too loose.

Will not hurt a bit to be uneven, in fact some have deliberately skewed the number of links on one side or another to make the watch stay in a more easy to read position on your wrist.

I have my band split 9/12. I configured it that way so that, when the clasp naturally aligns to the flat of my wrist, the watch is angled slightly towards me. When the band was more evenly split it tended to face away from me, and it made the 'wrist raise' hard to achieve.

Is this your first watch with a link type bracelet? You can't always have it even since wrist sizes vary greatly.

Mine is not even on both sides for the same reason as others have said. To me, it sounds like having 20 is too loose for your but 18 is too tight and you are stuck in the middle with no choice other than to move further up the wrist or use it like several others including me. It works great.

Same. I also have learned my wrist swells a bit at different times of day. Sometimes the smaller 9-9 size is loose and spins, and sometimes on 9-10 it's too tight.

Probably the first one that I've worn all the time. I usually prefer leather bands but I have a Milgauss that I like to wear every once in a while. That's a tad loose but there's no HR monitor on it so loose is okay on it.

Even the link bracelet can be worn a tad loose and still have the HR monitor and wrist detection work.

Yup I just made mine 11/8 so that it angles towards me. Thanks for the tip!

It's pretty common for people to have fewer links on the thumb side.

If I make it 9-9 it's too tight but 10-10 is too loose.

A regular link type bracelet also has a micro-adjustment in the latch.

For some unknown reason, Apple seems to have totally ignored this extremely common link feature.

Now that I've finally been able to open the links myself on the SS SB link bracelet (a plastic tool to press down the button helped significantly) I have adjusted it so that I have one more link on the "12:00" (pinky) side than on the "6:00" (thumb) side and that works out really well for me. When colder weather sets in again in the fall and winter, I'll most likely have to take out another link but for right now the watch feels just right throughout the day, even if the weather becomes hotter and more humid and my wrist and skin respond to that.

Thanks for the tip, I pick up mine on Wednesday and this will be the first thing I check out.
