Link Dark Theme to Night Shift?

Why didn't Apple implement the ability to tie the dark/light theme to night shift? When the sun sets, turn on the dark theme. When the sun rises, turn on light theme.

Otherwise this seems poorly implemented to have to manually adjust everything.
