Hi,

Could somebody please explain to me if I got this right or not. Since IOS6 I should be able to link my phone number and my Apple ID. What I am expecting to happen is that when somebody sends me an SMS text to my phone number I should also see it in Messages on my IOS6 iPad and OSX 10.8.2 device.

I am trying to get this to work, but it's not. Maybe I just misunderstood the whole thing :D

Yes... in the iOS Messages settings scroll down to Send & Receive and login there with your AppleID. Make sure your phone number and email address(s) are listed there after you do this.

Now on Messages in OS X make sure you are logged in under Messages prefs accounts area under the same AppleID. If you are when you add the AppleID to the iOS device you will get a popup in OS X asking if it is okay to merge the phone number to receive Messages.

You should then be all set.

Also on both devices set it to send messages out from your phone number.

Basically what worked was to sign out and to log back in! Thanks!
