Links don't open correctly in Mail/Chrome

Hello,

I've had this problem recently on my 2016 15' TBMBP (running 10.13) where links in Mail don't open successfully in my default browser. Basically I'll click on a link in an email and a blank new Chrome window will open.

It's super annoying to have to copy the link URL, paste it into Chrome and then close the unnecessary new blank Chrome window.

Has anyone dealt with this and/or come up with a fix?
