Crazy I'm on the streets of NYC and I stop to have a message on the screen invalid password for Linksys a few times because it tries to connect to my friends password protected linksys (which is really miles away).

Just one of those odd things that I couldn't imagine a workaround.

This kind of thing will happen to you if you use password protected generic names (NETGEAR, Linksys, DEFAULT) ETC.....

Anyone have this happen? What would you suggest to Apple?

Under the WiFi settings there is an option to ask to join networks, that may work. Otherwise there is nothing you can do except turn off WiFi when not in use, or make sure the networks you want to join regularly have unique names so the phone does not confuse networks.
