I no longer subscribe to Linus Tech Tips (I left during that gamernexus video), though I'll watch a video once in a while. Additionally various tech channels come through my feed, every so often I'll see someone who used to be from LTT. Looks like in the past couple years they lost a lot of the core people who helped build the channel to what is now.

The latest seems to be Alex who had done much of the fabrication and engineering for LTT. He posted the video below on him actually getting fired,

its an interesting video where he also talks about how damaging the GamerNExus video was to LTT's media empire, so much so he states they never fully recovered from, in both sponsors, and views.

While its understandable that employees come and go, I think some of what Alex stated about getting too large too fast, and then reorganizing has had some unforeseen consequences. His biggest gripe, was early on he was doing so much different things, that it was exciting, but at the end, he was just a writer, which overall seems to be a poor fit for him, as he was an engineering student before joining LTT.

From the LTT videos I have watched, they are lacking a lot personality, and instead relying too much on Linus, it seems its more him, and less of an ensemble where the diverse personalities made for some good videos. The channel seems to be a bit bland, the. same type of stuff over and over with Linus trying to be zany.

Also it looks like they closed down a number of different channels, including Mac Address, TechQuickie, GameLinked. I'm not surprised by the Mac and Game ones. LTT is such a PC centric/anti-apple channel, I don't think Mac Address really gained traction and the gamelinked channel just didn't make sense to me. TechQuickie is surprising because I thought it was filling a need, but maybe their shortcircuit channel occupies the same topics and demographics.

Jake left, and looks like his channel is brand new

Emily Young (many of the videos, he was known as Anthony).

Taren also left, though he seemed more background talent, but he was in a number of TechQuickie/Short circuit videos.

Never got into Linus specifically. His only legitimacy was working at a Canadian computer repair store from what I know and seemed to pawn most of his stuff off to the crew then come in for scripted reactions.

I’m okay with average content but his ads are one of the worst of any channel. Typically one sponsor and two plugs for his Temu store.

Quit LTT an age ago Linus is a phony
If you watched his airpod video (either on LTT or short circuit), his lack of sincerity comes through with his completely fake and manufactored anger over the 1mm increase in the airpod case. It was laughable.

Worse comes across as a narcist
Definitely, there were cracks in his armor in the controversies prior to what GN exposed, but then the mask fully came off thanks to GN

I'll still catch a YT of LTT if it comes across my page, and its interesting, the airpod one is a good example. With Anthony (now known as Emily), Jake, and Alex, the videos just seem one dimensional

Was always the others that made the LTT for me. Not interested in Linus bleating on or flexing his wealth, is very much a no in my culture. YT hasn't served LTT to my feed in more months than I can remember, Alex's channel popped up and willing to see what he can do.

Have few doubts Linus know his stuff, equally he's now so detached from the average gamer, tech enthusiast much of his content is meaningless...

Definitely, as he built out his luxury house with so much tech and system, I felt those videos were so tone deaf. He complains that his server closet in his house does this or that, and I'm like, wow, first world problems.

Him and Luke Miami were sincere, honest and passionate about computers.
I don't watch YouTube unless I miss a euro cycling race as my last LTT video was when they snuck into everyone house and ripped their systems and lack of dust cleaning.

he did make some good points over how  improving product wise,
while continuing to rip them for "bleating on or flexing their wealth" as being complacent software-wise these past years.

I like Luke Miani but his production level has fallen off quite a bit so I don't see him very often. There are a few others that I follow and CraigNeidel and SaranBytes I find interesting but there aren't in-depth product reviews outside of Max Tech that I like. CraigNeidel is more about sales on Apple products and accessories and new stories on Apple. I like what he does here. Saranbytes does more short videos on products - nothing wrong with that but I sometimes like more depth.

My main PC guys are GN, Paul's Hardware, Level One Techs, and Hardware Unboxed.

I watched 'some' of Linus's videos but I did catch him out being wrong on some stuff, this was when he worked at the distributor centre whilst building his own business on their time, never understood how that worked out? Anyway I watched some of their content as the new mega LTT, but red flags were that he hired his wife as HR, never a good idea that.. when you have tens of employees and growing.

But then when it came out about the staff treatment I wasn't shocked, then when Gamernexus destroyed them, I stopped watching LTT all together. So I will happily follow the good ol favourite (and better then Linus IMO) ex employees on their channels.

I follow a fair few channels, my favourite is Paul Hibert if you are British as he has some wicked sense of humour lol, he does a LOT of home automation stuff.

Linus is just way too big headed and comes across as my way or the highway type of person, also just reading stats like ho does is soooooooo boring! His other staff, now ex employees are much more interesting and fun.

Linus is just an extremely unlikeable person and his abrasive personality was always off putting but tempered by some of the other people on his team. I too unsubscribed and drifted away from their content when the controversies occurred. I can imagine it’s a tough watch now with just/mainly Linus and less/none of the supporting crew. I’ll definitely give Alex and Jake a sub.

I have not followed any of what is or has gone on with Linus. I do like his videos when they come up and catch my interest. Again not sure what the issue is but find is content enjoyable and sometimes educational.

Him and Luke Miami were sincere,
I like Luke, unless his role has changed, he only does the WAN show. For me that format doesn't interest me, so I largely ignore it, though Linus' rants on that show have sparked a fair amount of controversies, i.e., trust me bro

Giving credit where credit is due

I give Linus a lot credit to see a problem with YT, and change his channel accordingly. Obviously, with his floatplane paid subscription service, youtube memberships conflict with that business model but I agree with his rant about members only YTs cluttering up my feed.
