Linux live usb & EFI Password

I've been really lax with security lately and I wanted to spend some time tonight to fix this. Among other things, I am planning to setup an EFI password. My only concern with this is that sometimes I like to boot to Linux live USBs for various reasons. If I set this EFI password and then try to boot to one on startup using the option key as I normally do, will it just entirely fail/ignore the USB/or ideally will it give me an option to enter my EFI password to allow it to boot?

Is it easy to change/remove the EFI password if I decide to later?

Yes, it can be removed via the same tool that is used to create/add it.
