Linux on MacBook or iBook G4?

I am planning on getting Linux and want to know on which computer it would be better to be installed on (and easier). I'll be using Linux as a 2nd operating system and I have a lot of fun with it (Mac OS X too).
Also, which distrubution SUSE or Ubuntu?

The Macbook as it's x86 (Intel) rather than PPC. SUSE has better wireless networking and power management so on a laptop is probably better (this is second hand info, from Linux users at Uni.)

I'm not anywhere near an experienced linux user, but I do run ubuntu through parallels on my macbook every now and then, and I love it.

I am not going to pay $80 for Parallels just for Linux. I am going to try it some different way.
