Hi there. I just bought a new 15', 2.2 ghZ, MBP. I have been reading about the wi-fi issues and have encountered it myself today.
Here's my particular problem: When I try to connect I get a "connection timeout" error and cannot connect.
I have tried all the tricks: service order, new network location, etc.
Here's what I have observed which may help to explain what's happening.
I live in an apt. building where there are at least 4 wide open networks. Wide open meaning no security, no password. My MBP will connect flawlessly w/ all these networks but when I try to connect to my own, which is password protected, I get the connection timeout.
Obviously my solution is to leave my network completely open, with no password. Well, this is a ****** situation and I don't like it.
I'm hoping Apple fixes this in 10.4 and soon!
Hoping this post will add to the already overwhelming discussion of this problem. I haven't seen anyone else mention anything about the problem being password related. Maybe this will help sort it out.
Thanx
