The new "incremental" update fixed something that even AppleCare Senior Techs could not figure out yesterday. The older 10.7.5 combo update build 11G56, caused the following problem:
Spotlight was suddenly re-indexing every time I restarted, and by the end of the day telling me it would take 5 weeks to index my stock 320GB hard drive!
I called Apple Tech Support (thank you AppleCare) and they seemed stumped.. their only knowledge of such an anomaly was when the drive was infected by a trojan horse. Several simple fixes they offered did not work.
Installing this new build 11G63 fixed Spotlight. It's about 60% done indexing my slow drive after 6 hours.
