Lion and Core demands

My mac:

2 x 2.26 Gh Quad-Core
6 GB intern 1066 Mhz DD3 ECC
NVIDIA GeForce
Lion 10.7.3

Did the update to Lion and now the mac seems to be slower. A lot of turning weels when working with iMovie, iWeb, Photoshop or Logic Pro. In the macshop a shop-stafmember told me my computer is to old [4 years] Is that true.... I have a reasonable high end setup. Anybody can advice me?

That's a piece of bullcrap (what the staff member told you), they just want you to get the latest Mac which runs Lion better.

Unfortunately Lion is a mess, and I can see that even on specs as twice as fast as mine, it still lags.

How did it perform on SL?
