Maybe the lion speaks Cantonese and not Mandarin? Oh wait, lions can't understand human language. :D
TAIPEI, Taiwan - A lion attacked a man who jumped into the animal's enclosure and shouted "Jesus will save you!" at the big cat Wednesday at the zoo in Taiwan's capital.

Another doctor said Chen, 46, also had psychological problems.

No kidding! :p

What did the lion need to be saved from??
Looks like he should have been shouting "Jesus save ME!"

A little different twist to the story of Daniel and the Lion's Den in the Bible.

Apparently this guy got some part of the Christians-and-the-lions story wrong.

Perhaps he should try saving the soul of a lemur first, and work up the the lions.

it says he has psychological problems, quit talking smack about him, would you call a blind man who got hit by a car dumb?

But when has a blind man/woman walked blindly (bad pun... I know...) into a street and been hit by a car? This guy needs help but it is rather funny that he jumped into a lion cage (King of the Jungle, here) and shouted that Jesus will save it, with it being the lion. Wow... I wonder why no one bothered to help him before?

That was a stupid action. He must have forgotten reading in the Bible, "Do not test the Lord your God. When we are tested then God will be with us. :(

Tossing a religious freak to the lions without a liberal coating of tasty steak sauce should be illegal.

Hard to believe that he just suddenly developed these psychological problems (although not impossible). So... that means somebody should have been aware of his situation, and looking out for him. Of course we don't know the whole story, but do we ever? He may not be responsible for his actions, but somebody should have been.

I saw video of it on the TV news. It looked like the lion bit him twice on his right arm. He reacted to the lion's charge by bringing his arm up in front of them, so that human instinct seemed to work, but the rest of his self preservation instinct was missing.

Speaking of people doing stupid things in public, I also heard on the TV news that a woman watching a game show recognized a man who had attacked her. He was the contestant! She taped the rest of the show, called police, and they found the guy and picked him up.

It's very sad to see people doing stupid things, stupid is as stupid does, but lions? ...

Those cats are far better behind the screen, get a Mac!! :p

Do you not find that this sort of story emerges every year or so?

Should be a sign up:

There lions.
DO NOT **** WITH.
By order of the Management.

I'd sure laugh at that sign, much more so than if it just read "They're lions".

Did he have to on the Lions territory to tell it that Hey Zuess would save it?

I bet Darwin got a chuckle out of this one.

I wonder if he had compartmentalized the attack. Either that or he is a glutton for punishment. It he enjoys public attention, he will get plenty of it now.

I found a news story about this case, which I mentioned earlier.
