Lion: drivers for old HP printers

With Lion, are there any drivers out there that can get my Deskjet5550, HP Deskjet450 and Deskjet 6840 working again?

Most seem to have stopped at OX 9.

My HP 6840 works just fine as a networked printer. Is yours operating as USB ? Try it via Ethernet instead.
Works much better than on my Win7 PC.

Gutenprint. The HP DeskJet 450 is explicitly supported. You may check the general Linux Foundation OpenPrinting project website for CUPS drivers for the other printers.

There is no such thing as OX 9.

I have a Deskjet 5850. which is a networked 5550. It isn't supported under snow leopard either. I set it up as a B&W printer using the "Generic PCL Driver" and to print color I used Gutenprint. Works fine.

If you don't find the 5550 listed you can use a HP printer which is close as HP uses PCL for its printers. Experiment, and delete the printer ques that don't work.
