lion+FCE+2011 MBP

i'm running lion on my 2011 mbp 2.0 ghz. it's the base 15" with no upgrades. my final cut express documents are on an external hdd it's connected through firewire 800.

my cpu is not being used at full capacity, is that normal? (i came from an imac that would max out)

i've included a screen shot of istats and the render window.

FCE wasn't multithread aware. That's why you maxed out your CPU on the C2D iMac.
Check your Activity Monitor and you'll see that one core is running full blast, while the others don't.

At the first moment I thought this was a Windows screenshot.
