I have a mid 2011 I7 iMac running 10.7.1. Connected to my Airport Extreme via USB is a 1TB drive. Never really had issues with it until recently. I had downloaded a file to it, tried to make an alias of the file and i noticed one of the cpu cores spike up and istat was showing Finder using 100%. I was also getting a beach ball from finder. I tried to force quit and/or relaunch finder. However, this only made the entire system lock up and only a hard restart could fix. any ideas?
