Hey everyone,

I am on the Lion GM on my 2011 MBP. I ordered a PPV stream online and the video wouldn't load. I figured it was because flash is not pre installed, so I downloaded and installed it. Didn't fix the video problem, so I uninstalled it. Now youtube keeps telling me I need to upgrade my flash player, where before it didn't. Does anyone know how to completely reverse what I did??

How about installing a different version of Flash?

Flash doesn't come pre installed anymore, and I really don't want it on there. Just trying to figure out how to get Safari back to the way it was before :(

You can remove flash by using the Adobe Flash Install manager in Applications -> Utilities, by searching for an uninstall on Adobe's site or buy removing the flash plug ins from Library/Internet Plug-Ins

Hmm, well it looks like everything is completely uninstalled. Thanks everyone. But how do I get safari to load videos again. Every site I go to says I need to install Flash, but it never did before.

I am trying to get HTML back in Safari, but don't know how.

HTML5 never left Safari. It is just how web pages are rendered. Websites can deliver video content a number of different ways. A web site can use Flash or the newer ( Flash less ) HTML5, which does not require videos to be played using flash. It is up to the website to choose how to serve video files.

To get Youtube to play html5 whenever it can go to http://www.youtube.com/html5 and click "Join the HTML5 trail".

If you want to watch videos you're going to need flash... it's just how things are. Not many sites offer their video library both in flash and HTML5 right now.

Which version of flash did you try to install?

Version 10.3. Said it was a beta for Lion. Sorry for all the questions, I sort of panicked thinking I messed up Safari. Now that I actually think about it, I must have had Flash on there because I upgraded from Snow Leopard.

10.3 works for most sites. Like you know it is a beta for Lion. You did no harm with your Safari.

I must have had it installed before from Snow Leopard. After I downloaded 10.3 it put an icon in my system preferences, which wasn't there before. Thats why I though I didn't have it before, but if Snow Leopard comes with it installed, that must be why I never say an icon.

All of this because I wanted to watch the WWE ppv online lol.

It's understandable. Flash is needed as you have seen. Some sites still require it. More annoying is getting a non-mobile optimized iPhone site. No flash on the iPhone.
